Derek Johnson, Nacogdoches, Texas, who goes by the name Rattletrap 1776 on social media is posting that the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump was not real and that the people sitting behind Trump were “crisis actors”.

Derek Johnson posted this image on his Telegram channel.

Johnson’s backstory is a suspicious one that involves behavior that some believe may constitute seditious conspiracy with a foreign power.

On July 13, 2024, President Trump was struck in the ear by a sniper’s bullet during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In addition to Trump being hit by a bullet, another man was killed and two injured.

However, according to Johnson the event was all staged.

Johnson presents himself to the public with suggestions that he is working for Trump – while simultaneously communicating to the public that Trump is lying when he says he was shot in the ear. Trump’s doctor, Dr. Ronny Jackson issued a written diagnosis regarding Trump’s gunshot wound.

“The would-be assassin fired multiple rounds from a relatively close distance using a high-powered rifle, with one bullet striking the former President, and now the Republican Nominee for President, in his right ear,” Dr. Jackson said. During the Republican National Convention, Trump honored Corey Comperatore, the respected fireman who was shot and killed on July 13, 2024, in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Associated Press published images of the funeral.

Yet…

Johnson, even within the past few hours, continues to publish photos of Trump suggesting it’s all fake.

Johnson, an aspiring Nashville music artist, originally emerged onto social media with claims he was going to be traveling to Guantanamo Bay (GITMO) where he would be reporting on treason trials. Johnson claimed he had some high-level sponsorship for the journalism endeavor, but ultimately never delivered on his bizarre promises.

Johnson, despite his history of false statements, essentially demands people believe his theories. Johnson refers to himself as a “veteran” and insists he should not be challenged. Johnson has fallen under increased scrutiny by the public and military veterans who have tried to discuss matters with him. Johnson possesses extremely limited communication abilities and can barely engage in a mutual conversation. Johnson regularly screams at the top of his lungs during videos – on one occasion he screamed so loud the microphone peaked out and began to mute his voice automatically.

Johnson’s activities of casting doubt on the Trump assassination attempt received support of sorts when FBI Director Christopher Wray suggested Trump may not have been hit with a bullet.

Johnson does not appear as a guest on any shows that are credible.

Many believe Johnson is either mentally unbalanced or is deliberately aiding in a coup.
