Friends,
My daughter recently contacted me in tears with an update on her friend’s (Melissa Daugherty) cancer situation and chemo-therapy treatments.
Melissa is only in her 30’s and inexplicably developed cancer – she has 3 little children.
My daughter said, “I feel like my best friend is dying in front of me and there’s nothing I can do stop it”.
Anyway…
The hospital advised Melissa that she could set up a Go Fund Me to help cover her travel back and forth and expenses of raising three kids etc.
I am FRUSTRATED because I attempted to donate to Melissa but no matter what I do my donation will not go through. Oddly, I do receive a receipt from Go Fund Me at my email that acknowledges my donation (but the donation does not show up).
I know Melissa and she is the kindest, warmest, most loving girl you could ever meet. I remember visiting Ruby Falls in Tennessee with my kids and Melissa was with. We went down a wire from the top of a mountain (might have been called Lookout Mountain) and my riding partner in the gigantic car suspended from a wire was Melissa. She kept me calm because I was scared s#!@less. lol
